Compared to the hot and humid weather last week, today was nice and cool but with some drizzle. Fourteen of us were in attendance. Since zoom was not zooming today, those who might have tried to zoom in, must have been directed to the zoom abyss.

President Rob rang the bell exactly at noon. Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the reading of the 4-way test. Your scribe, who is filling in for Neil Cunningham, delivered the invocation based on the essence of the 4-Way Test.

President Rob started the fun part of our weekly meeting. Three trivia questions were correctly answered by Charles, Sue and Sue again. The red grab bag was passed around for winners to reach in and grab their prizes. Members were encouraged to bring in prize items to keep the trivia grab bag nice and full.

Since there were no guests, we led ourselves to the lunch table. The choices were pastrami and tuna grinders in addition to two kinds of pizzas, two salad selections and thanks to Ceil for the ice cream. President Rob is on an archeological mission about our club’s history. He indicated that he has dug up evidence that shows that Dan and Jack are indeed our legacy members. They joined the club in 1976.

Peter Klock gave us a brief history lesson about their visit, some twenty years ago, to Bangladesh to administer polio vaccines. While there, he heard about a college professor Mohammad Yunus, who was trying to uplift poverty in the country, specifically among women, by instituting a micro lending project. This project in time became so successful that he received a Nobel Prize. Most recently Mohammad Yunus is in the news again. He had just been named to head the interim government after the sudden resignation and departure of the former prime minister.
