Great weather at Goodwin for our Rotary Meeting today. Attendees were Marc, Bob, Jim, Ceil, George, Dan, Hope, Guy, Sue, Peter, Ray, Jack, Anwar and Neal. President Rob joined us via Zoom. No guests today.
Pre-meeting discussion covered the weather in Florida with Rob and the Rotary Action Seminar with Sue.
Marc rang the bell at 12 Noon and Rob called the meeting to order. Marc led the Pledge of Allegiance and Four Way Test. Sue gave the invocation about Rotary helping others across the globe.
Lunch from First & Last was an excellent spread of fried calamari, chicken and eggplant florentine, penne pasta and focaccia bread.
No program today.
Three winners for our Trivia game: Neal, Bob and Ceil. Our Raffle pot is now $488. Bob won the pull but drew the six of hearts.

Announcements
- Mario deCamargo, Rotary International President Elect from Brazil has chosen “Unite for Good” as his message.
- Sue announced that more members are needed to work on grants.
- Our District Governor, Vin Marinaro, will attend our meeting on April 16.
- Tiffany Robinson is now an official member of our club. There was some discussion on the process for new members. Consensus of members present was the process should be shortened. Sue feels an information session is needed. The sponsor should provide information to the prospect and all members should be approaching candidates. We should have an official greeter for new candidates.
- Rotary Scholarship applications are now being submitted. Anwar is in charge.
Upcoming Events
- Hope Firestone reminded us that the Playhouse on Park presentation “The Irish…And How They Got That Way” is March 29. $50 per person. Park on street. Please call Hope and Dan, 860-930-3476, if you are interested in attending.
- Paul Harris Dinner is April 23 at Maneeley's in South Windsor. $60 per person with a cash bar. Let Ceil know if you will be attending.
- "Day of Service" is scheduled for May 13.
- Our Golf Tournament is June 16 this year. Hole in One prize as well as a 50/50 Raffle. Target is $25,000.
- Rob announced a new initiative called Hunger in Hartford Area. We will be collaborating with the Windsor/Windsor Locks Clubs to package food at the end of July. Need four volunteers plus donations to raise $1500 for this initiative.
