Dr. E. J. Neafsey, PhD
Chief Water Scientist
LG Sonic US
President
Stafford Rotary Club
E. J. Neafsey has 20 years of experience in water quality monitoring, analytics, and consulting. He completed his PhD at Cornell University, focusing in part on assessing infrared spectroscopy and chemometrics's usefulness to subaqueous soil survey. His research at the University of Virginia examined the linkages between hydrologic connectivity, water quality, and mangrove health in Southwest Florida. At LG Sonic US, he guides continuous improvement of its predictive analytics suite, transforms customer data into management recommendations, builds stakeholder coalitions, and advocates for environmentally sound water quality stewardship. My presentation will describe how RI's new environment focus aligns with our longstanding work on public health and water projects, including potential opportunities here in District 7890.

Travel Stories
May 11, 2022
A dynamic speaker, Joy is a global traveler who has slept with a Motmot, dined with Sheiks in Saudi Arabia, been face to face with a Polar Bear and eaten Whichetty Grub soup in Australia, She has just published a book of adventure and humor, From Schnitzel to Nockerln And Everything That Happened In Between which draws from her diaries in Kenya, Trinidad and Tobago, India, China, Saudi Arabia, The Galapagos Islands, Australia, Cuba, the Canadian Wilderness and Western United States.
An octogenarian, Joy is the oldest member of the Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland. To the left Joy (on the right) autographed her book for Rotarian Patty MacNeil.
Still traveling, Joy stresses the importance of getting out of one’s comfort zone and not letting age deter you from pursuing your dreams.

Empowering Women
Jun. 08, 2022
Deidra recommended her as a guest speaker and provided the following introduction: I am connecting you with Diane Bailey, the Director of the CT chapter of Miss Amazing. She would love to be a speaker at one of our rotary meetings in the future. I sit on this board as their treasurer. This fits in with our theme of empowering women and some of the girls in the chapter were helping to pack feminine hygiene care packages with me yesterday for one of their service projects.
I met her daughter Chelsea Bailey through National Night Out here in East Hartford and Chelsea has worked with me at Bakery On Main in the past. |
